"Doctor" Nick Teaching at the Irish Open

"Doctor" Nick was born in Oxford, England in 1959. He is a highly qualified Golf Teaching Professional and has been teaching golf for over 30 years. Nick first learned to play golf at the age of 9 at the home of golf in St Andrews, Scotland. As a golfer, Nick has had 3 course records, 7 "aces" and twice has hit over 3,000 golf shots in one hour, to raise money for charity. He is also a qualified training consultant and karate black belt . Nick has taught golf extensively in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, in England, as well as on assignments in France, Wales, Portugal, Scotland and Nigeria. He has been happily married for 30 years, with one daughter; he lives in a renovated farmhouse with his wife, 5 dogs, 16 chickens and 2 ducks.

He moved to Ireland in 2004 to become the Teaching Professional at Woodstock Golf and Country Club and is now one of the busiest golf teachers in the area; there is frequently a waiting list for lessons. Since 2009 he also teaches at East Clare Golf club, which has some excellent practice facilities. Over the years Nick has conducted thousands of golf lessons, his clients have included tour professionals, golf professionals, celebrities, club golfers of all levels and juniors. In 2008, he was invited to teach at the Irish Open. Nick has had many of his articles on golf instruction published, and writes a regular golf instructional series "To the Fore" for the Clare People newspaper. His bestselling book "Better Golf Tips" is available at Amazon in paperback and on Kindle and in the web store.

 Golf Teaching Professionals are now required to maintain their skills and knowledge with regular training. Nick designed the continuing professional development programme (CPD) and core competencies structure being used by over 2,000 Teaching Professionals in Europe. In support of the CPD programme he has also designed and delivered many training courses for Golf Professionals in Ireland.
